Donald H."Don" Turner, 82, passed away on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
He was born in Spartanburg, SC, the son of the late Raymond Cecil and Coatsie Turner and was the husband of the late Jeanne McMahon Turner. He graduated in 1954 from Spartanburg High School and received his degree in Business Administration in 1958 from Catawba College. He served in the U.S. Army and in the National Guard after college.
He worked for many years in human resources at Milliken, Hoechst Celanese, and retired from Spartan Foods. His main community interest was the YMCA as he served four terms as President of the Board of Directors at the Spartanburg YMCA. He was an active member of Tyger River Presbyterian Church.
He enjoyed golf, running, fly-fishing,and was a great animal lover, especially dogs.
He is survived by a daughter, Amanda B. Turner, of Greenville, SC, who loved him very much and will miss him very much.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 6th from 9:30 am -11 am at Tyger River Presbyterian Church followed by a memorial service at 11 am at Tyger River Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Hudson Neely officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tyger River Presbyterian Church at 5961 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369.
