Donald Foster Jeffeaux, known affectionately as Donnie to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024, at the age of 84, in Easley, SC. Born on March 7, 1940, in Greenville, SC, Donnie was a man whose life was defined by his dedication to his family, his work, and his unwavering faith.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marlene Jeffeaux, who was his partner in every sense and his greatest support. He was a proud father to his sons, Bryan (and wife Marilee) Jeffeaux and Craig Jeffeaux, who will carry on his legacy of integrity and hard work. His sister, Linda Jeans, will fondly remember her brother's guidance and companionship. Donnie's joy was multiplied with the birth of his precious granddaughter, Crystal Jeffeaux, who was the apple of his eye.
Preceded in death by his father, Alton P. Jeffeaux, his mother, Thelma Jeffeaux, and his siblings Bill Jeffeaux, Larry Jeffeaux, Jim Jeffeaux, and Gloria Hardin, Donnie is also remembered by a large, loving, and supportive extended family who will miss his wisdom and warmth.
Donnie was a proud graduate of his local high school, where he formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for his future. His career as a skilled machinist spanned many years, with dedicated service at both Saco Lowell and General Electric. Colleagues knew him as a man of great skill and greater humility, always willing to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.
A man of faith, Donnie was an active member of his church, where he found strength and community. His love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him, with hunting and fishing being among his favorite pastimes. These activities were more than hobbies; they were opportunities for Donnie to be in nature, reflect on life's blessings, and spend quality time with family and friends.
Donnie's life was a testament to the values he held dear: love, family, faith, and hard work. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his teachings will continue to guide his loved ones for generations to come.
As we bid farewell to Donnie, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey completed, and a soul at rest. His memory will be cherished, and his presence sorely missed. Rest in peace, dear Donnie, until we meet again.
