Donald Sidney Grant Sr.

Mr. Donald Sidney Grant, Sr., 79, husband of Carol Jo Reeves Grant, died Monday, March 9, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Walhalla, S.C., Mr. Grant was a son of the late Sidney C. and Sula Gillepie Grant.
Don was a life long resident of Pickens, S.C. He was the owner of The Grant Body Shop and the former owner of Grant Ford Inc. He was also involved in many other business throughout his life, including Grant Lumber Company and Grant Brothers Chip Company.
He was very active in the Pickens Community, serving as a volunteer fireman for the Pickens Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pickens for over 40 years. Throughout his life, he served on several boards including the Pickens County
Planning & Development Board, The Cannon Memorial Hospital Board and The South Carolina State Forestry Board. Don was also a Mason, a Shriner and a Rotary Club member.
Don was a past president of the Pickens County Country Club and could often be found playing the back nine. Outside of his family, golf was the love of this life.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his son Don Sid (Christina) and grandson Christopher, of Greenville, S.C. as well as two brothers, Hoyt (Laura) Grant of Pickens, S.C. and Stan (Kathy) Grant of Cypress, Texas. Mr. Grant was predeceased by brothers, Jerry Grant and Charlie Charlie and sisters Nancy Wells and Mildred Lewis.

Due to the current enviroment, the gathering for a memorial service will be announced at a later date
