Donald Francis Davie of Salem, South Carolina passed away peacefully May 22, 2017 surrounded with love at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca South Carolina. Born in Barwood, New York from parents Donald and June Davie he spent the majority of his life in the southern eastern United States (Florida, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina) Donald was a veteran of he Vietnam War. He served his country for four years, before coming home and attending college. Donald attended college at Georgia Institute of Technology; where he received a degree in industrial systems engineering, He built parts and assemblies for Army automobiles and also during his carerr as a engineer built air plane motors for Teledyne Continental Motors. In his spare time he enjoyed fixing up houses and in his mid-life he received his State of Alabama contractors license. He also loved music, playing his guitar, fishing, boating, swimming, camping and developing his many friendships. Donald was a extremely loving and proud of his three children, two daughters and a son. Jennifer Foster of Alabama and her husband Stephen and their two children Andrew and Carrie Foster. Meg Chatman of Toccoa Georgia and her three children McKinlee, Reilly and Avery Chatman. Donald Davie of Jacksonville Alabama and his son Houston David. In addition he is survived by his mother June Davie Of Rockledge Florida, His brother Joe and his wife Beth of Rockledge Florida. His girlfriend Patricia Burns of Salem, South Carolina, His sister Ellen Gardner and her husband Daniel of Tampa Florida. His sister Susan Kunda and her husband Robert of Loxahatchee, Florida and his sister Nancy Peirce and husband Frank of Cape Coral Florida. As well as his aunts, uncles, nieces.
