Don Eric Swafford

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Don Eric Swafford, affectionately known as Don, who left this world unexpectedly on January 26, 2025, in Pickens, SC. He was born to the late Martha Lollis and was a cherished brother to Karen Simmons, Cathy Lollis, Sherry Powell and Donna Chapman, predeceased by Mike Swafford and Sondrea Smith. 

Don entered this world on June 21, 1960, in Oconee, SC. In his early years he worked as a brick mason, a testament to his craftsmanship. His hands were also instruments of love as he always enjoyed cooking for and spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

He was the devoted father of Kayla Barrow, Tiffany Walker, and Eric Swafford. He also had a special bond with his son-in-law Joseph Barrow. He delighted in the role of grandfather to Braylin, Jaidyn, Isabella, Khloee, Justice and Walker. His love for his children and grandchildren was only rivaled by his passions for reading, the History Channel, and the melodies of "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Don's legacy is characterized by his loving nature, his intelligent conversation, and his witty humor, all of which brought light and life to those who knew him. He leaves behind a family who cherished and loved him, ensuring his memory will live on in the hearts of many. Don's life is a story of unwavering love and the laughter he shared with us will forever echo in our memories.

A memorial in remembrance of Mr. Swafford's life will be held at a later date.
