Dominick “Dom” Robert Steed

October 31, 1959 — April 15, 2020

Dominick Robert Steed, 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Dom grew up in Hawthorne, NJ. Prior to retiring to Moore, South Carolina, he worked for L3 Communications in Budd Lake, NJ as a quality control inspector for 28 years.

He was the loving son of the late Claudette Steed (2011) and brother of the late Deborah Jones (2005) and Michele Schlenker. Devoted father to Joshua Steed (Melissa), Kristen Steed-Van Ness (Michael), and Brian Steed (Kristen). Beloved common-law wife Elizabeth Green. Adoring grandfather to six grandchildren. Survived by a loving aunt and cousin as well as many extended family members and friends.

Besides Dom’s passion for his family, he loved music. In high school he was a drummer in the Epochs Drum and Bugle Corps. He then took over the stage with his talent performing in countless bands. Dom enjoyed watching football on Sundays and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors as well as fixing things around the house. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or at least try to fix! Dom loved his children more than anything and was very proud of them. They would say that he always gave the best hugs, great advice, and could lighten the mood with his humor. Elizabeth described Dom as her soulmate and the love of her life. Together, they enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren, watching horror movies, and Steelers football on Sundays.

The family would like everyone to keep Dom’s memory alive in their thoughts and prayers.
A service will be announced in the future to celebrate his life.
