Derrill Brooks Collins

Derrill Brooks Collins, age 68, departed this world peacefully on December 21, 2024 in Easley, SC, surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, cherished father, loyal brother, and genuine friend, Derrill touched the lives of all he knew. 

Derrill was born December 16, 1956 in Pickens, SC to John T Collins and Frances Collins. 

Married for 41 years to his wife, Kathy Collins, Derrill found great joy in their shared love for finding unique antiques and treasures and spending time together at the beach. 

Derrill truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved spending time with his family, especially his three daughters, friends and cheering on his Clemson Tigers.

Derrill’s family was his greatest pride and joy. His greatest role in his life was being a “daddy.” He always said “I love you” and “let me know you’re safe.” He was a warrior but kind. A strong leader who led by example. He had a smile and a wink that would steal your heart and will forever be remembered.

He is survived by his wife Kathy Collins; daughters: Alicia Powell, Melissa Conners (Ronnie), Brook Hayes (Brian); Brothers: Gerald “Tot” Collins, Terry Collins; Grandchildren: Brittany Barrett, Jessica Cole; Jade Martin (Cody), Madison Conners, and Savannah Masters; along with several other family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by parents, John T. and Frances ; brother, John Collins; grandson, Daniel Walters.

At the request of Derrill and his family, all services will be held privately.
