Mr. Dennis Linwood Carter

February 21, 1947 — January 8, 2019

Dennis Linwood Carter, 71, of Taylors, SC, went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2019.
Preceding him in death are his father, Hugh Carter, mother, Alma Crismond Powers, a brother, Donald “Tootie” Carter and a sister, Sharon Brooks. Dennis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Smith “P-nut” Carter, two sons, Brian Carter of Baltimore, MD, Brett Carter of Taylors, SC, two grandsons, Chandler Carter of Anderson, SC, Isaac Carter of Easley, SC, a sister, Susan Woolf of Taylors, SC, several loving aunts and cousins.

Born in Milford, VA, Dennis was a graduate of the 1965 Class of Caroline High School, Bowling Green, VA. He was very athletic in football, baseball, and slow pitch softball throughout his life and kept playing until he could not do so physically. He loved music and was a talented drummer who started a local band in high school and later learned to play the guitar. Dennis was an avid hunter and fisherman with his brother and uncles whom he loved beyond measure and loved the golf outings with his brother and friends over the years. Because of his deep love of country, he faithfully served in the U.S. Air Force after graduating, touring in Guam and Thailand loading the planes that flew over Vietnam. He was a member of The Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina, Bailey Lodge #146 A.F. & A.M. and served as Worshipful Master in 1992. He was a retiree from Mitsubishi LLC in Greer, SC.
