Delane "Lane" Bayne

November 25, 1949 — October 27, 2023

Delane "Lane" Bayne, a woman of faith, wisdom, and boundless love, was called home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2023. Born in Gainesville, GA, on November 25, 1949, to the late Clarence "Pete" Pruitt and Frances Pruitt, Lane was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Her journey on earth ended in Greenville, SC, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Lane was a woman of many talents and interests. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as gardening and planting flowers. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, and she delighted in sharing its bounty with family and friends. A devout follower of the Gamecocks, Lane's enthusiasm was infectious, and she was often the life of the party during game days. Her love for cats was well-known, and she provided a loving home for many feline friends throughout her life.

Lane's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was deeply involved in all church activities, and her love for gospel singings was a testament to her deep and abiding faith. Her wisdom and faith-filled life were an inspiration to all who knew her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to the Lord.

Lane's professional life was marked by dedication and hard work. She served as a supervisor at Multi-Pak Solutions, where her leadership skills and work ethic were greatly admired. But it was her personal life that truly defined her. Lane met the love of her life, Ray Bayne, in 1987 at Mae's Cafe in Greenville, SC. Their love story was one for the ages, and they were happily married for 18 years.

Lane is survived by her loving husband, Ray Bayne, her daughter, Tabatha Norwood, and her son, Jason Lark. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her stepsons, Scott and Chris Bayne, her brother, Larry Pruitt, and her twin sister, Delores Phillips. Lane was blessed with a special friendship with Deborah Hembree, Stan and Barbara Campbell, Jessica Powell, and Joan Holtzclaw. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Lane's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. She was a woman of great strength and wisdom, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate her life and the love she shared with us. Let us remember her not with tears, but with smiles, for she has now found eternal peace in the arms of the Lord.

In the words of the good book, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Lane Bayne, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Now, a crown of righteousness is laid up for you. Rest in peace, dear Lane, until we meet again.
