Debra Dottry Patterson

Debra Dottry Patterson, age 54, of 1017 Hayes Road, Anderson, SC passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Upstate after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Anderson on December 26, 1961, she was the daughter of H. Grady and Helen Rogers Dottry. She was a 1979 graduate of Crescent High School and Forrest College and Anderson University. Debra loved music and was an accomplished trumpet and trombone player. Two of her favorite trombone pieces to play were “Just a Little Talk with Jesus” and “Tiger Rag”. She played in the Crescent High School Band and also for a time in the church bands of West Anderson and Homeland Park Church of God.
She is survived by her three children, daughters, Jordan (Jordee) and husband Joe Machen, Molly Elizabeth Patterson, both of Anderson, SC and son Graden Patterson of the home, a brother, Hoyt Dottry of Lyman, SC. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Alliefair Rogers of Walhalla, many family members and close friends, especially the “neighborhood of 4-houses”.
A Memorial Service will be held at Homeland Park Church of God, 219 West Roosevelt Drive, Anderson on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. with the Reverend Vernon Soles officiating. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
