Deborah Jefferson (Delk) Hutchins 72 of Greenville, SC passed away in her home on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 with her daughter, Tammie Leigh Delk and Hospice of the Upstate nurses by her side. Born June 4, 1950 in Greenville County residing most of her life in the Paris Mountain area. Deborah was a graduate of Parker high school, class of 1968. She furthered her education in accounting, raised a family and worked as an accountant for over 30 years.
Deborah was a follower of Jesus, loved and lived for her family. She was a beautiful, kind, loving, generous, selfless, hard-working mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and very dear friend to so many. She was so full of life, love and laughter, loved working in her gardens, reading recipes, baking and cooking, spending time traveling from the mountains to the coast. Such joys came from the journeys, not just the destinations.
Deborah was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Wade Hampton Jefferson and Vera Childs Jefferson, 4 brothers, a sister, and only son, Anthony “Tony” Wade Delk. Deborah is survived by her daughter, Tammie Leigh Delk of Greenville, SC, her grandson, Nicholas Brooks Delk, currently deployed in the US Armed Forces, a sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Gary Childress of Dawsonville, GA, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and her little buddy Red.
