Dean Edward Hayes

Dean Edward Hayes, 74, of Greenville, SC passed away Saturday July 7, 2018. He was born August 4, 1943 to parents Edward C. and Ethel ( Luce) Hayes in Sioux City, IA. He spent the majority of his youth in Moville, IA.
Dean was an Airborne Ranger in the US Army from 1966-1969. His service included a tour in Vietnam.
Dean enjoyed spending his time on the golf course, building furniture for his loved ones and time spent with family. Ms. Iowa, Snoball, and Quincy brought joy to his life.
Dean attended the University of Utah and graduated from Georgia State University. He earned a post graduate degree from Furman University.
Dean worked with the Ballenger Corporation, Fluor Daniel, and Suitt Construction (BE&K) as a corporate safety manager.
Dean is survived by his companion of 20 plus years Lynn F Hall, of Taylors, SC; sister Nila K Hayes, of Sioux City, IA; daughter Christine L Hayes (fiancé John E White), of Huger, SC; daughter Kerry L Hayes, of Greenville, SC; daughter Kelly H Disbrow (Chris) of Clemson, SC; grandsons Finley H Disbrow, Simms D Disbrow, Christopher G Disbrow, Tate J Disbrow of Clemson, SC; mother of his children, Rosemary Hayes, of Greenville, SC.
He is predeceased by sister Beverly J Waldman; sister Barbara J Weifenbach; and three brothers who died in infancy Michael, Joseph and Dennis.
A memorial service will be held at the Charles E. Daniel Memorial Chapel on the Furman University campus in Greenville, SC on Thursday July 26th from 2-3 pm. A family visitation will follow.
