David Lee Simmons of Anderson, South Carolina, died unexpectedly on Friday June 12, 2020 at the age of 34, due to injuries sustained from a car accident.
He is survived by his parents, Joel and Julie McDade of Shelby, NC and Charles and Sheila Simmons of Gray Court, SC; his children, Grae, Harper, and Declan of Simpsonville, SC; his sisters, Leann McDade Willis and Alicia Annette Prevatte; and his step-sister Brandi Kuiper.
David was born on July 21, 1985. He graduated from Dorman High School in 2003, and served in the Armed Forces, where he completed a tour in Iraq and in Afghanistan. Subsequently, he worked as a Fiber Optic Technician in Anderson, SC.
David was a devoted father and son. He enjoyed spending time on the water, whether swimming at the beach or fishing in Hartwell Lake, and many considered him a big-kid at heart. He loved working on home renovations in his free-time and watching his South Carolina Gamecocks play football on Saturdays.
A memorial service will be held 12:30 Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the Chapel of Westville Funeral Home to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children - Greenville,
