David Shepardson, 85, of Greenville, died peacefully at his home Wednesday, April 4th, 2018.
He was born in Endicott, New York to Louis and Jeannette Shepardson. He lived most of his life in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Murray Shepardson. He is survived by his siblings Ivan (Stan) Shepardson, Lorraine Shepardson, and William (Bill) Shepardson; children Jerry Shepardson, Sandy Currie, Tammy Shepardson, and Candy Thames; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
At the age of 18 he joined the US Air Force, achieving the rank of Airman First Class by the time he was honorably discharged in 1955. He later attended Bliss College and won a bowling championship. He spent his career in sales with HM Craig metals and later opened his own business, Stainless Services, before retiring. He was a free spirit who enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, and horse racing. He loved his Ohio State Buckeyes, the Carolina Panthers, and traveling to visit his siblings in Florida, Virginia and New York. In 2007, he moved to Greenville to be closer to his family.
A memorial service will be held at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
