David Wayne Rooker was born June 1961. He passed away July 2017 in the care of Kindred Hearts Hospice of Greenville.
Debra Rooker (wife), Morgan Rampy (daughter), Caleb Grogan, and Deeann Malcolmb were all there as Heaven opened the gates and received his beautiful soul.
David proceeded in death by his father, Wayne W. Rooker. In addition to his wife, Debbie, David is survived by his mother, Ione Rooker; 5 children, Ryan (Lisa) & Landon Rooker, Dustin (Christa) & Morgan Rampy (Caleb Grogan), Samantha (Jordan) Taylor; 7 grandchildren, Silvia, Joseph, Christian, Mason, Lane, Kyleigh, Morgan; 2 sisters, Diane (Mitch) Crossland & Sherry (Glenn) Butcher; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and his beloved sidekick D.O.G. (Shih Tzu-Terrier).
David served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed mission trips to Ecuador and Haiti. He worked at a software company as a Chief Internet Security Officer (CISO), and was on many boards for Cyber security. David's hobbies were extremely diverse. He loved everything ranging from computers, cooking, landscaping, electrical, reading, gun range dates & traveling with Debbie, singing, humor, spending time on the lake with family, cheering on the Denver Broncos, and supporting anything Clemson (Go Tigers!). David could make anyone laugh! Puns were always the first thing out of his mouth. He always knew how to incorporate humor into any conversation and was always the funniest guy in the room (or at least we told him he was). Although David was already diverse, he strived to keep learning. This was a daily goal for him.
David's biggest accomplishments were sharing his love for Jesus Christ and spending time with his family & friends. He was a former member of Brookwood Church in Simpsonville, and a current member of Foothills Community Church in Seneca. David always thanked people for the time they spent talking with him, and he had one signature that he used when signing cards and personal emails which read, "Through Him, David".
David was always so happy and energetic, and could effortlessly brighten anyone’s day in a matter of seconds. We’re going to miss his smiling face in our lives. We know that David is in Heaven, and that he looks forward to standing at the Golden Gates waiting to see all his family & friends again.
