It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Masters, who left us on October 23, 2024. Born with cerebral palsy, David faced many challenges throughout his life, yet he met each one with remarkable courage, resilience, and an unwavering spirit.
David was born on July 27, 1950, in Greer, South Carolina, and from a young age, he demonstrated a strength and determination that inspired everyone around him. Despite the physical limitations imposed by cerebral palsy, David never let his condition define him. Instead, he embraced life fully, finding joy in working in the day center, working on his computer, listening to music, and sharing his infectious smile and positive outlook with all who knew him.
David’s journey was marked by his incredible achievements and the deep connections he formed with those around him. He was known for his dedication and kindness. His colleagues and friends admired his tenacity and the way he approached every task with enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
Beyond his professional life, David was a devoted son and cousin, whose love for his family was boundless. He cherished every moment spent with his loved one and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. His family will always remember his laughter, his stories, and the way he made every gathering special.
David’s legacy is one of perseverance and love. He taught us all the importance of living life to the fullest, regardless of the obstacles we face. His spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will remain a source of strength and comfort.
A memorial service will be held on November 9, 2024, at SC Cremation Society located at 6010 White Horse Road Greenville, South Carolina from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. where we will come together to celebrate David’s extraordinary life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Humane Society of Greenville or the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, a cause that was close to David’s heart and reflective of his generous spirit.
Rest in peace, David. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.
