David Lynn Large

David Lynn Large, 62, of Inman SC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 at Valley Falls Terrace Rehabilitation Center in Valley Falls, SC. He was born in Spartanburg, SC on March 31, 1962, to the late William Ralph Large and the late Joyce Linda Splawn Large.

Surviving are two sons, Matthew Large and Josh Carson, both of Inman, SC. He was the beloved husband of his late wife, Sharon Carson Large. David was predeceased by his brother, Jackie Large, and his sister Mary Large Berry. Left to cherish his memories are his three sisters, Cynthia Huggins (Cindy) of Wellford, SC, Lena Shipman and her husband Doug Shipman of Cowpens, SC, and Pam Smith and her husband Warren Smith of Pauline, SC. David leaves seven nieces and nephews, and ten great-nieces and nephews. He was of the Baptist Faith.

David’s favorite hobby was reading books, especially History books. He enjoyed traveling to historic areas, particularly Revolutionary and Civil War sites. He was a coin collector and collector of Revolutionary and Civil War memorabilia. He inherited his love of Christmas and decorating his home with lights and ornaments from his parents. David found a love of sports by growing up near Inman Mills Park where he learned to play basketball, football, tennis, and baseball. One could find David at the “Park” on any given day until he married and moved to Spartanburg, SC.

The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Valley Falls Terrace Rehabilitation Center employees and Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care for their care and support.

Funeral services will be held at the Chapel at Good Shepard Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs SC on August 29th, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
