David Michael Baker, 67, of Taylors, SC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 28, 2019. As a 12 year old boy, David realized his sinful condition and accepted Christ as his Savior from his sin. David was looking forward to eternity in Heaven.
David was born in Queens, NY on August 5, 1952, and had resided in the Greenville and Taylors area for the past 30 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Teddy Brown Baker.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 44 years, Deborah; children: Stephen (Rynda) Baker (Fountain Inn, SC), Angela Baker (London, England), Craig Baker (Fountain Inn, SC), Joel (Nicola) Baker (Tadley, England), and Cheryl Baker (Taylors, SC); three grandchildren: Rowen, Lyra, and Effie-Rose; brother, Richard (Joy) Baker (Mauldin, SC); and several nieces and nephews.
David recently retired from Fluor in Greenville, SC after almost 30 years of service.
He was an active member at Mount Calvary Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and assisted with men’s prayer breakfast for many years.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 115 Cedar Lane Road, Greenville, SC starting at 1:00 PM with funeral services starting at 2:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Coleman Memorial Cemetery, 1599 Geer Hwy, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
