Danny Ray Stewart

Danny Ray Stewart, 61, of Greer, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Born on February 28, 1956 in Greenville, South Carolina to his parents, Ray WIlliam Stewart and Barbara (Eades) Stewart. He was a lifelong resident of the upstate of South Carolina and he worked as a welder for the General Electric plant in Greenville. Danny served his country proudly and with honor as a member of the United States Navy where he earned the Navy Marine Corp Medal. He enjoyed going fishing and working in his garden. He enjoyed spending time riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents. Those who will most treasure his memory are his stepmother, Norma J. Stewart of Greenville, SC; his brothers, James Stewart (Vickie) Travelers Rest, SC, Johnny Lee Marley (Darlene) of Piedmont, SC and J. D. Marley (Sheila) Easley, SC; his sisters, Anita O’Boyle (Sean) of Spring, TX, Sandra Howes (Chuck) Bradenton, FL, Deborah Marley of Miami, FL and Lea Ann Stewart of Piedmont, SC; his unofficial adopted daughter, Star Smith and her husband, Dustin of Greer, SC. He was a beloved Pappy to Mahalia (Solon), Logan, Eli, Preston and Kaylee. Danny is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and members of his extended family.

A memorial to remember and honor Danny’s life will be from 6:00 until 7:30 on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the New Life Baptist Church, 2690 West Blue Ridge Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29611.
