Daniel Joseph Linberg, 63, husband of Kathy Renee Clark Linberg, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at his home in Mauldin, SC. He was born December 2, 1951 in Chicago, IL, to the late Joseph and Josephine Gore Linberg.
A true rock and roller, he began drumming professionally at the age of 14 in various wedding bands. In 1969 he was a founding member of “Sando’z,” a rock band that played at venues throughout Illinois, such as Rush Up, Mother’s and Haymakers.
Married in Chicago, IL on February 14, 1980, he moved his family from Chicago, IL to Bridgeview, IL in 1991 and to Mauldin, SC in 2003 where he worked for Dillard’s until 2010. He was a member of the Mauldin (SC) Garden Club and Grace Church - Pelham Road, where he played drums in the Children’s Ministry for 1st - 4th graders and made them laugh with “Dan’s Joke of the Week”. He was a skilled drummer and a gifted gardener who shared his talents with his church and communities. Dan initiated a garden apostolate where he created local gardens to grow fresh produce during the summer months in his community. He was a gentle man who lived simply and gave of what he had to his family and community with great generosity.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Megan LaCasse (Alex) of Greer, SC, a son, Charles Linberg, at the home, a sister, Kathleen Campbell (Gene) of Puxico, MO, nephew and nieces, Robert, Rachel and Diana Krerowicz and grandchildren, Mazzy and Arlo LaCasse.
