Dale Lee Cavins, affectionately known as Wolf by those who knew him best,
passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023, in Lyman, South Carolina, at
the age of 67. Born on December 15, 1955, in Calexico, California, Dale's life
was a rich tapestry of experiences that touched many lives with his humor,
skill, and vibrant spirit.
Wolf proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After his service, he
channeled his precision and problem-solving skills into a career as a
mechanic then a custodian; A trade where his hands were as adept at fixing
broken things as they were at creating music and art.
An avid fisherman, Wolf found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. His
love for the outdoors was only matched by his passion for moto-cross in his
younger days, a sport that reflected his adventurous and spirited nature. With
a guitar in hand, Dale was a beautiful musician whose melodies could soothe
souls and enliven any gathering. His artistic talents also found expression
through his crafting of Indian Bead Art, a testament to his dexterity and deep
appreciation of his Indian heritage.
Those who knew Dale will remember him as a man who was not only funny
and handy but also deeply spirited. His laughter was infectious, his ability to
fix anything was legendary, and his zest for life was inspiring. He was a
beacon of light in the lives of his family and friends, and his absence will be
deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Wolf is survived by a loving family who will cherish his memory: his daughter,
Rebecca Alvarez, and son-in-law, Joel Alvarez; his granddaughters, Mickenna
Pruett, Alessandra Alvarez, and Isabella Alvarez; and his soon-to-be-born
great-granddaughter, Iris Rechell Popovich. He also leaves behind his
siblings, Sandy (Doug) Cavins-Laub, B.J. Cavins, Bobby Cavins, Penny
Cavins-Frazier, and Terry Cavins-Cejnowa, as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Dale's life was a journey of passion, creativity, and love. His legacy will live on
in the hearts of his family, the stories shared among friends, and the echoes of
his guitar strings in the wind. As we say goodbye to Dale Lee Cavins, we
celebrate the indelible mark he left on this world and the countless memories
he gifted to those around him.
A private ceremony will be held by the family to honor the remarkable life of
Dale "Wolf" Cavins. His spirit will forever roam the great outdoors he so dearly oved, and his memory will continue to inspire laughter and joy in the hearts of
those he touched.
