Connie Leona Guynn

July 24, 1943 — June 4, 2024

Spartanburg

Connie Leona J Guynn, a woman whose roots ran deep in faith, love, and spirited joy. Born to this world on July 24th, 1943, in the fine state of New Jersey, Connie spread her branches wide with love before the Lord called her home on June 4th, 2024, in the warm embrace of Spartanburg.

Connie walked this earth for 80 admirable years. She stood as a beacon of love, her light a guide for her cherished children, Connie Lee Holley, Leona J Riffe, Arlene P Miller, Deborah A Taylor, and James D Peale Sr., as well as her dearly departed daughter Colleen M Dorsey and beloved husband Danny Guynn Sr. Her legacy lives on not only through her six children but also through her treasured stepchildren and a lineage that continues to blossom in the form of numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.

In her lifetime, Connie embodied the essence of a housewife in the true Southern sense – her home was a sanctuary for all. Connie's love extended beyond the bounds of her human family to encompass all of God's creatures. An animal lover at heart, her nurturing touch soothed the many paws that found solace in her care. And as her hands toiled the earth of her garden, she cultivated beauty that mirrored the paradise above, a true reflection of the kingdom we all yearn for.

Her passion for the Lord was unparalleled, A woman of strength and purpose, she lived her life like a prayer, a living amens and hallelujah to the Divine presence that guided her. Connie's love for the show "Blue Bloods" offered a glimpse into her admiration for the values of loyalty, justice, and family – a reflection of her own lifelong convictions.

Today, we remember Connie – loving, faith-filled, spirited – and although she has crossed the river Jordan, her spirit is as alive in our hearts as the bright morning star. Now, as she rests in the arms of our Lord, let’s rejoice in the blessed assurance that her story, her love, and her legacy will echo throughout the ages like a sweet southern hymn sung on a Sunday morning. Amen.
