Clyde Cassell

February 3, 1929 — July 21, 2013

Clyde Cassell was born on February 3, 1929 in Pickens County. The son of Bertie Cassell and Clearance Stewart of Pickens County, he was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954, with an honorable discharge. He took pride in his work for Abney Mills as a maintenance man for 45 years.

Predeceased was his wife Gladys Earline Cassell, daughter Shirley Smith, grandsons Zach Frederick and Wayne Hood, and brother James Cassell.

He was a wonderful, loving daddy to daughter Pat Clayton (Lamar) of Easley, and son Broadus Taylor of Martin, GA. Also surviving are daughters, Linda Waldrop of Greenville, and Sandra Frederick (Von) of Easley, 11 grandchildren and brother ShirleyCassell of Easley.

Visitation will be held from 6:30-8 PM, Tuesday, July 23 at Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Rd., Greenville. Funeral service will be at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 24 in the Westville Funerals chapel. Burial will follow at Graceland West Cemetery.
