Cletus Mitchell Bayne

April 28, 1940 — October 8, 2022

Cletus Mitchell Bayne, born to Praylo and Eunice Messer Bayne on April 28th, 1940 passed into Heaven on Saturday, October 8, 2022 after a brief illness. He was suddenly taken into glory while sleeping. Praise God who is full of mercy.

His loved ones are a son, Glenn Bayne and wife Krystal of Travelers Rest. A daughter Kelli Powell of Travelers Rest. His beloved grandchildren, Tanner Powell of Jacksonville Fl, Wesley and Olivia Gayle Bayne of Travelers Rest. A brother, Ray Bayne and wife Shirley. A sister, May Pruitt. A very special Aunt, Jewel Bayne. Several very close Nephews.

Retiring from Milliken after 30 years, Cletus enjoyed a 22 year retirement. He spent most days on his hillside with the company of family and friends. Many, many stories being shared with great laughter.

He was known as Papa C to his grandkids. He was always the first to deliver a birthday card. He lived a simple life and will be missed by many. He was a faithful watchman for his family, always alerting us of upcoming weather and offering shelter in the storm. He knew exactly what farm animals his granddaughter Olivia had and kept a close eye on her farm.

Cletus believed in Jesus Christ and attended Lima Baptist Church. We thank the good Lord for blessing Cletus with 82 years of life.

A celebration of his life will be at Lima Baptist Fellowship Hall on Sunday, October 23rd at 1:30 pm. The family welcomes everyone to come enjoy a meal.
