He was always eager to delve into books on psychology, the sciences, history, anthropology, and archaeology, constantly expanding his understanding of the world around him.

His education paved the way for his career in the medical field. Claude served as a medical lab technician in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he continued his work as a lab technician in several hospitals, including North Carolina, Colorado and Atlanta. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated professional who brought his intelligence and thoughtfulness to every task.

Claude's gentle nature was most evident in his love for nature. He and his late wife, Sue Haselwood Norris, shared a passion for the outdoors. They tended bird feeders and nurtured flowers in their yard, creating a haven for local wildlife. Claude also had a knack for fixing things. Whether it was a broken appliance or a complex problem, he approached it with a calm demeanor and a determination to find a solution.

Claude is survived by his loving daughter, Wendy Elaine Norris, his sister, Mary Ann Bowdish, and his brothers, Bobby Norris and Derrick Norris. He was predeceased by his wife, Sue Haselwood Norris, his father, Robert Norris, and his mother, Opal Norris. Claude also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember him as a kind and gentle uncle who was always ready to listen and offer thoughtful advice.

In his quiet way, Claude made a significant impact on those around him. He was a good listener, always ready to lend an ear and offer thoughtful insights. His intelligence was matched by his humility, and his gentle nature made him a comforting presence in the lives of his family and friends.
