Clarence "C.I." Miller, aged 88, passed away on October 13, 2024, in Easley, SC. Born on December 21, 1935, in Plant City, FL, to the late Colon Hampton Miller and VeraMae Stewart Miller, C.I. lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a passion for adventure.
C.I. was a man of exceptional intelligence and a faith-filled spirit. His hands were rarely still, as he found joy in fixing anything that was broken, a testament to his handy nature. After serving honorably as a navy electrician, C.I. continued his career as a supervisor at DuPont, where he was respected for his leadership and expertise. Retirement did not slow him down; instead, it gave him the opportunity to become a world traveler, exploring new places and cultures, which he cherished deeply.
Fishing was among C.I.'s favorite pastimes, providing him with moments of tranquility and reflection. He often shared stories of his travels and fishing expeditions with his family and friends, who were captivated by his experiences and knowledge.
C.I. is survived by his beloved significant other, Muriel Chabot, with whom he shared many of life's adventures. He was a loving father to his son, Michael C. Miller (Carolyn), and his daughter, Vicki Taylor (Dale). His brother, Jerry, will fondly remember the bond they shared throughout the years. C.I.'s legacy continues through his granddaughter, Ashley Nelson (Jon), and his grandson, John Galloway (Diane), as well as his four great-grandchildren, who will miss their great-grandfather's wisdom and warmth.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Sean Taylor, whose memory he held close to his heart. C.I.'s parents, Colon and VeraMae, and his family's heritage, were always a source of pride and grounding for him.
C.I.'s life was a testament to his character—intelligent, faith-filled, and incredibly handy. He was a pillar in his community, always willing to lend a hand or share his expertise. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, yet his influence will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.
C.I. Miller's journey on earth may have concluded, but the stories of his life will continue to inspire and guide us. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, adventure, and the quiet satisfaction of a job well done. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
