Chester Junius Brown passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019, in Spartanburg, South Carolina after a long battle with illness. Chester was lovingly cared for by his niece Norma Baker and great-niece Courtney Baker. Chester’s journey began in Greenville North Carolina on August 30, 1943. He enjoyed traveling to see new sights and meet new people which was easy to do with his pleasant easy going demeanor and memorable storytelling. Chester was quick to turn acquaintances into friends, never knowing a stranger. Emporia and Petersburg located in Virginia were two places he held dear to his heart having had many fond memories there of accomplishments, friends, and family. Chester is survived by four siblings Juanita Baker, Bertha Moye, Shelton Brown, and Donald Brown. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
