Charlotte Raye Anderson Brodie Perosino

August 28, 1937 — February 10, 2018

Charlotte Raye Anderson Brodie Perosino, 80 , passed from this life Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Hospice House of the Piedmont.
A native of Harford, CT, she was the daughter of Otto Raymond Anderson and Evelyn Schaeffer Secor.
Spending her elementary years in different states, her family settled in Miami, Florida where she attended and graduated from Linsey Hopkins Technical High School and attended the University of Miami. She then started her working career as the secretary for Sheriff Thomas J. Kelley of Dade County Sheriff’s Office in Miami. While working at the Sheriff’s Office, she met her future husband Thomas G. Brodie. After taking time to raise her family, she went back to work as legal secretary for different law firms, retiring from the firm of Fowler & White, et al. She was later married to Raymond V. Perosino.
She was a member of many organizations including, President of PTA, the Legal Secretary Association, a member of the Federal Grand Jury and a Master Gardener. She volunteered with the Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary (both in Miami), the Greenwood Soup Kitchen, and spent 12 years serving with Hospice Care of the Piedmont.
Charlotte enjoyed many activities throughout her life such as cooking for family and friends, bowling, fishing, oil and watercolor painting, woodworking, crochet, and tatting. She enjoyed the companionship of her pets, parrot, Charlie Gray, and her dog, Pepper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Raymond Anderson.
She is survived by her children, Faith (Tim) Wheeler of Simpsonville, SC; Steven (Marsha) Brodie of Greenwood, SC; and Sarah (George) McKinney of Greenwood, SC; grandchildren, Angela, Justin, Anne, Graham, Taylor and Sean; five great-grandchildren; and her sister Myrna Cleveland of Stuart, FL.
A celebration of her life will be held at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Greenwood, SC on Saturday March 17, 2018 at 1:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646
