Charlotte "Charlie" Deal Bailey

Charlotte (Charlie) Deal Bailey passed away on February 12, 2021, at Easley Baptist Hospital after a brief illness. Charlie was born to the late Duncan Oren Deal and the late Ruth Meeks of Toccoa, Ga. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Derrill Bailey of Greer, SC, one sister, Jewell Powell of Toccoa, Ga, brother, Tyrus Deal of McDonough, Ga; her children, Sherry (Dwayne) Skelnik of Anderson, SC, Keith (Leanne) Reynolds of Houston, Texas, and Amanda (Ed) Knope of Mauldin, SC. Stepchildren, Laura (Loren) Fritz of Adairsville, Ga and Mark (Amy) Bailey of Canton, GA. Grandchildren, Dr’s Casey (Chris) Hopkins of Anderson, SC, Alexis (Geordie) Crone of Sellersburg, Indiana, Melaina Murray (Evan) of Charleston, SC, Allison Reynolds (Nick Anderson) of Los Angeles, CA, Bailey Reynolds of Tuscaloosa, Al, Alec (Karlee Simpson) of Mauldin, SC, Davis Knope, and Peyton Knope, both of Mauldin, SC; Andrea Fritz and Bailey Fritz of Adairsville, Ga, Addison Bailey and Michael Bailey of Canton, Ga; Great-grandchildren, her namesake, Charleigh Hopkins, twins, Dane Hopkins & Clive Hopkins, of Anderson, SC, Jade Renee Crone of Sellersburg, Indiana, and many beloved nieces & nephews. Preceding her in death is an infant grandson, Ren Knope, sisters, Annette Smith of Tennile, Ga, and Linda Cheek of Lavonia, Ga, brothers, Kenneth Deal of Martin, Ga, James O’Neal Deal of Toccoa, an infant brother, Jerry Deal.
After a career in sales and purchasing, Charlie enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, spending time with her large family, and Clemson Football. She was a humanitarian at heart and volunteered, among others for meals on wheels, various homeless, poverty, and women’s ministries, and she recently served as mission’s chairperson at Grace United Methodist Church.
