Charles Gerald Messer, 80, of Piedmont, SC passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Foothills Retirement Center in Easley, SC. Survivors include his four grandchildren, Christina Holcombe. (Michael), Charles Nichols (Audrey), Christopher Messer and Rebecca Messer. Four great grandchildren, Taylor Nichols, Kaitlynn Holcombe, Bryce Nichols and Jordan Holcombe. He is preceded in death by his two children, Charles Jeffrey Messer and Desiree Nichols. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM with services to follow on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, 327 Mountain Springs Road, Piedmont, SC 29673.
