Charles Arthur Mattison

Charles Arthur Mattison, 72 of Greenville South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at Greenville Memorial Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Charles was born August 10, 1950 to the late Minnie Mattison and Lawrence "Billy" Mattison of Travelers Rest, SC. Charles graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968 and married his high school sweetheart, Mae Helen Mattison and in that union they had two children, Andre Mattison and Tanzi Mattison of Taylors, SC. Charles also had a daughter Duchess Gates, two bonus sons, Dameko and Richard Gates all of Greenville, SC.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Minnie Mattison, a daughter, Tanzi Mattison, and nephew Craig Simmons.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Mae Mattison, son, Andre Mattison, daughter Duchess Gates, two bonus sons Dameko and Richard Gates, 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, two nieces, three nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces, two aunts, two uncles, and a host of family and friends.
Charles had the biggest and kindest heart who would do anything for anybody. His smile, laughter, kindness, and fiery spirt will be truly missed. He truly loved his family despite any storms he faced.
Charles was a loved son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend who truly will be missed!
