Charles Kenneth " Ken " Houston

Charles Kenneth " Ken " Houston 81, of Mountain Rest, SC, passed away October 12, 2019 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC. He was born April 16, 1938 to Charlie and Genette Houston in Gneiss, NC (Macon County).
He was a graduate of Toccoa High School and Georgia Tech, where he received a Master's Degree in Heat Transfer. His early career was in the aerospace industry where he worked on developing the space shuttle. Later, he was self-employed in the cabinet business, having bought Fricks Custom Cabinets and owned Designed Cabinetry. He enjoyed the outdoors and animals of God's creation, and had a lifelong love of fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Patrick Neil Houston.
He is survived by a son Van (Bobbie) Houston of Toccoa, daughter Adele (Tod) Little of Blythewood, SC, sister Annette Doggett of Taylors, SC, Granddaughters Taylor (Kyle) London, Natalie Houston, Jessica (Samuel) Hess, Kristen (Player) Chappell, and Step-granddaughters Jessica Zirkle and Mia Zirkle.
