Charles King Gribble III

Charles King Gribble III, also known as Skip, a man of loving spirit and friendly demeanor, passed away on November 13, 2024, in Piedmont, South Carolina. Born on March 14, 1948, in Painesville, Ohio, to the late Charles King Gribble Jr. and Lorna Mae Gribble, Charles was a passionate soul who lived a life full of dedication to his family and work.

Charles's journey began as a curious and lively child in the heart of Ohio, where he grew up with his late sisters, Charlene Weaver and Patricia Anderson. Charles's commitment to his loved ones was evident in every aspect of his life, a trait that endeared him to all who knew him.

In his professional life, Charles was known for his strong work ethic and versatile skills. He spent many years as a machinist, where his attention to detail and precision were greatly valued. Later, he took on the role of a groundskeeper, showcasing his love for the outdoors and his ability to nurture growth and beauty in the environment around him. Eventually, Charles's entrepreneurial spirit led him to become a business owner, where he applied his vast array of talents to create a successful enterprise.

Beyond his work, Charles had a passion for coin collecting, a hobby that allowed him to connect with history and the wider world. His collection was a source of pride and joy, and he loved sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others, especially his grandchildren. He also had a love for cruising, which gave him the opportunity to see the beauty of the world. 

Charles's legacy is carried on by his beloved spouse, Susan Marie Gribble, and their children: Christine Rowlands (Thomas), David Gribble, and Karen Rattray (Fabian). He was a cherished grandfather to Jason Rowlands, Brandon Rowlands, Ysabelle Rattray, Anthony Rattray, and Lena Rattray, and a proud great-grandfather to Olivia Rowlands. Each of these individuals was touched by Charles's love, wisdom, and the warmth of his presence.
