Charles “Drew” Andrew Wood, 65, of Liberty, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022. A native of Oconee, he was the son of the late Julian and Lillian Nix Wood. A veteran of the United States Army, he served during Operation Desert Storm, was deployed to Panama, and was retired from the Army Reserves. He also retired from the Cushman Plant after several years. Drew enjoyed hunting, fishing, and enjoying all genres of music. He surrounded himself with friends, family, gadgets, and trinkets. His family knows that he is with the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion of 25 years, Judy Todd; siblings, Howard (Barbara) Wood, Margaret Taylor, Clyde Wood, and Mack (Janey) Wood; son, Colt Poore and grandson, Christian.
He is survived by his children, Chris Wood, Chance Sanders, Travis Todd, Cody (Vicky) Poore, Shea (Daniel) Rogers, and Trey (Katherine) Wood; siblings, Evelyn (Clayton) Sanders, Randy (Jeanette) Wood, Gary (Earlene) Wood, Linda (Randy) Gentry, and William LT (Brenda) Wood; in-laws, Jim Taylor, Jeanette Wood, and Louise Wood; and 7 grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 11th in the chapel of Westville Funerals with Pastor Tim Farmer officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, August 11th at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
