Carolyn Gail Watts Smith

Carolyn Gail Watts Smith--- Age 62 --- passed away March 9, 2020, surrounded by her family at home in Greer, SC She was born in Cleveland County, NC on August 4, 1957, and was preceded in death by her parents Carroll Houck (father) and Vernie Mae Houck (mother). Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who fought cancer for a very long time. She is survived by Ted Smith after 35 years of wedded bliss. They were married in the Charleston City Park on October 15, 1984 in Charleston, SC. Also survived are: Siblings: Brother James Watts (wife Gladys) of Lincolnton, NC; Brother Bobby Houck (wife June) of Lincolnton, NC; Brother Lonnie Houck (wife Linda) of Vale, NC; Sister Lisa Houck of Shelby, NC; and Sister Patricia Armstrong of Connelly Springs, NC. Children- Daughter Jennifer Millner (boyfriend Scott) of Hickory, NC; Daughter Stephanie Purnell (boyfriend Brian) of Casar, NC; Daughter Rickie Mellon (husband Brian) of Fallston, NC. Step-daughter Tammie Dellinger (husband Richard) of Grover, NC; Step-Son Michael Smith of Waco, NC; Step-Son Sean Smith (wife Natasha) of Corpus Christi, TX; Grandchildren: Gary, Kenneth, Ressia, Amanda, Damian, Tyler, Justin, Layla, Nathan, Darren, Adrienne, Chase, Ashley, David, and Chris. Great-Grandchildren - Scarlette and Dayla. She is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and close friends. At the request of Carolyn there will be no funeral services. The family will be having a private celebration of life on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at home in Greer, SC to honor her life and share memories. In lieu of flowers family would prefer prayers. She will be cremated by the Cremation Society of South Carolina with the disposal of ashes according to her wishes.
