Carol Evelyn Stafford (Pfaffenberger)

November 16, 1947 — May 28, 2023

Carol Evelyn Stafford (Pfaffenberger), age 75 of Greenville SC, passed away Sunday, May 28th 2023 at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a long struggle with health issues. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Edith (Clark) Pfaffenberger and her sister Connie. Carol is survived by her siblings, Thomas Pfaffenberger, Joyce Gonzales and her devoted husband of 55 years, Randy Stafford. She is also survived by 2 sons: Nick Stafford of Nashville, TN and Jeff Stafford (Jessica) of Greenville, SC. She loved and doted on her three grandsons Ethan, Gavin and Alden Stafford.
The youngest of four, Carol grew up in Seymour IN, where she attended Seymour High School. Her life carried her to Smyrna TN, Murfreesboro TN and finally to Greenville SC, where she lived near her grandchildren.
Carol loved playing board games and cards and she loved a good movie. She loved to cook and share recipes and she found comfort in taking care of others with a good home-cooked meal. Carol could tell stories of her childhood that would have an entire room laughing.
She will be truly missed by all the people whose lives she touched.
A short graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, IN June 17th 3:00 pm for family and friends. The service will be conducted by the Reverend Damon Spurgeon of Peter’s Switch Church of the Nazarene. After the service, family and friends are invited to meet at the church to share memories.
