Carol Anne Flynn

February 19, 1927 — August 26, 2018

Carol Anne Flynn passed away on August 26, 2018, at the age of 91, in the presence of her three daughters.

Carol was born in 1927 in New York City and was the first child of Katherine and Hanz Grosz. After attending Hunter College in NYC, she worked as an administrative assistant before marrying James Nugent Flynn on February 25, 1952 and starting a family of five. After raising her daughters, Carol returned to work in 1972 and had a fulfilling and successful career at Marubeni in Wellesley, MA. She was involved with the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary, loved bridge and was a talented artist and seamstress.

Carol will be remembered as a lady of grace, dignity and style. She was a woman of deep faith and her family takes great comfort in knowing she is now resting with her Eternal Father. Carol was completely devoted to her family and they were all blessed to be loved so unconditionally by her.

Carol is survived by her three daughters and their families: Leslie Flynn Snyder and Douglas Snyder of Sunset, SC; Charlene Flynn Golding and Rex Golding of Menlo Park, CA; Robin Howard-Johnson and Mark Howard-Johnson of Chatham, NJ; grandchildren Shannon McGovern, Nick Howard-Johnson, Kyle Howard-Johnson, Katherine Howard-Johnson, Caroline Golding and Millicent Golding; and great grandchildren Declan McGovern and Riley McGovern. Carol was preceded in death by her spouse, James Nugent Flynn, who died in 2011, and by her brother, Charles Grosz, who died at the age of 21.

At her request, she will be cremated and her ashes will be interred in her beloved Cape Cod. A memorial service will be held this fall, notice to follow.
