Carol "Denise" Hayes

Carol Denise Hayes, known affectionately as Denise to her friends and family, passed away on November 4, 2024, at Cherrydale Post Acute. Born on November 6, 1964, in Asheville, Denise was a beacon of kindness and selflessness throughout her life.

Denise was the beloved daughter of Gladys "Louise" Mealor, who predeceased her, and Joe Dan Mealor. She grew up surrounded by the love and camaraderie of her brothers, Jimmy Mealor and his wife Julie, Mark Mealor and his wife Stephanie, and Michael Mealor and his wife Cindy. Denise's nurturing spirit extended to her own family, as a devoted mother to her sons, Jason Mealor and his wife Scarlett, Brandon Hayes, and her daughter, Amanda Hurley and her husband Danny. Her husband, Michael Hayes, stood by her as a pillar of support and love throughout their life together.

Denise dedicated her professional life to caring for others through her work as a cook in nursing homes and as a biscuit cook at Hardee's, where her culinary skills brought comfort and joy to many. Her thoughtfulness shone through in every dish she prepared, leaving a warm and lasting impression on those she served.

Beyond her work, Denise had a passion for photography, capturing moments of beauty and significance, and freezing them in time for others to cherish. She also found pleasure in watching television, where she could unwind and enjoy the simple moments of life.
