Carol Elizabeth Cox 77 passed away peacefully at home October 11, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born February 27, 1946 in Providence, Rhode Island the eldest daughter of Robert and Patricia
(Gracia) Rounds. She was preceded in death be her loving husband Horace Lee Cox Jr, her parents and
two grandchildren Andrea Mae and Austin.
Carol received her license to be a practical nurse in 1971 and spent her life helping others as an LPN. She
worked at Spartanburg General Hospital and more recently at Magnolia Manor where she retired. She
served her country in the US Army Reserve achieving the rank of Specialist-5. In retirement she
continued serving others as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary president.
Surviving is her sister Joni Marie Brasfield of Honea Path, SC; children Mark Libner (Jill) of Chesnee,
Patricia Orr of Inman; 5 grandchildren Angela, Jesse, Ashten, Alexis, Savannah; 7 great grandchildren as
well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be at 515 Hummingbird Ln Chesnee, SC 29323 on Sunday
October 15 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
