Carl Duane Smith

Duane Smith left this world on March 28, 2017 to go home to his Heavenly Father. Duane was born Sept. 2, 1958 and was 58 years old. He retired from Blue Ridge Co-op. Duane was the son of the late Carl and Pearle Myers Smith. He was survived by his wife of 32 years: Diane Brown Smith; one daughter: Harmonie Smith Skipper (Jason); three sisters: Wanda Alexander, Tammie Richardson, and Vicki Bridges – Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Also his deceased brother-in-law: Roy Bridges who was like a brother to him. He was an Uncle, Great Uncle, and great-great Uncle to many nieces and nephews who he adored and loved to aggravate. And his faithful dog “Annie” who he adored. He was the life of the party and the one with the newest jokes. He was kind and helpful to all and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Duane grew up in the Nazarene Church. He joined his mother on her 91st birthday on March 29 and what a celebration I’m sure that was. He loved fishing, boating, the beach, rock and roll and of course Clemson Tigers. Visitation will be 6:00 pm Monday, April 3 at New Life Baptist Church 2691 W Blue Ridge Dr. Greenville with a memorial service following at 7:00 pm with the Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating.
