Brian Dustin Shumway

October 5, 1986 — September 19, 2023

Brian Dustin Shumway, known to all as Brian, was called home by the Lord on September 19, 2023, in Marietta, SC. Born on October 5, 1986, in Shreveport, LA.

Brian was a man of the South, born and bred, who carried the values of family and community in his heart. He was a son of the soil, a man who knew the value of hard work and the joy of a job well done. Brian was also a man of spirit, a tree man, and had a love for mother nature and the outdoors.

He was the beloved son of Sara and David Shumway, a brother to Tabitha Posey, and a brother-in-law to Jason Posey. He was a proud and loving father to his children, Rebecca, Ryan, and Avery. His niece, Kaitlin, held a special place in his heart. Brian was also blessed with the wisdom and love of his grandparents, William and Patricia Stinson.

Brian's life was a testament to the power of love and family. His children were his pride and joy, and he worked tirelessly to provide for them and to teach them the values that he held dear. He was a man who believed in the power of a helping hand, a kind word, and a hearty laugh.

In his passing, we remember a man who lived his life with a spirit of caring and a heart full of love. He was a man who was always ready to lend a hand, to share a story, or to offer a word of encouragement. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

As we say goodbye to our beloved Brian, let us remember him as a man of spirit, and love who gave freely of his time and love and was a mommas boy through and through. He has left us too soon, but his memory will live on in our hearts and in the lives of those he touched. May he rest in peace and may his spirit continue to guide us.
