Our beloved Brenda Cora (French) Paquin passed away August 31, 2024, at the age of 81, surrounded by her family. Brenda was born to Charles and Stella French of Tunbridge, VT on December 13, 1942. Brenda was a graduate of the South Royalton High School class of 1960. Throughout her life, she lived in Claremont, NH, Danville, VT, and spent her later years in Travelers Rest, SC. Despite her travels, her heart always found its way back to Tunbridge to attend the annual county fair. Brenda's life was a tapestry of dedication and service, woven through her work as a 4-H leader. She instilled a love of animals and sewing in her children and grandchildren, passing on skills that would enrich their lives and foster a sense of accomplishment. Her commitment to nurturing young minds was paralleled only by her devotion to her family. Brenda was the cherished wife of the late Harry Edward Paquin, and together they built a legacy of love and kinship. She was a beloved sister to Cheryl (Russel) Luce, Bonnie (Bill) Caswell, and Steven (Vicki) French. Brenda's role as a mother was her crowning achievement, and she is survived by her children Brenda L. Blakeman (Clay), Betty J Pushee (Will), H. Scott Paquin (Kelly), and Debra F Crown and former spouse Bruce Crown. She is also survived by her stepchildren Daniel J. Paquin (Merri) and Sharon L Spangler and daughter-in-law: Karen Paguin.
Brenda was preceded a step-son: Harvey J Paquin Sr. and a step-grandson: Harvey Paquin, Jr.
Her legacy continues through her 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Brenda's professional life was marked by her tenure with the American Society of Dowsers, and she was also a secretary. Brenda found peace in watching birds and digging in her garden, a sanctuary where she could commune with nature. She was a master of canning and sewing, skills that not only brought her joy but also provided for her family. Brenda's hands were rarely still, always creating, always nurturing. Above all, Brenda loved being a mom, gramma, and matriarch. Her home was a haven of warmth, where laughter was the melody and love the rhythm. She was the heart of her family, guiding them with wisdom and supporting them with an unyielding strength that belied her gentle touch. Brenda's life was a testament to the virtues of love, selflessness, and generosity. She gave of herself freely, asking for nothing in return but the happiness of those she held dear. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons held close, and her presence sorely missed.
