Brenda Cooper Brown

Brenda Cooper Brown, 81, of Laurens, SC, passed away on November 7, 2022, of natural causes.
Brenda was the daughter of the late W.T. and Sarah Berniece Cooper. She was born in Greenville County
on November 10, 1940. Brenda retired from Greenville Hospital System.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Ray Batson, Sr, and her second husband, Charles
Talmadge Brown and her first son, Bobby Ray Batson, Jr. She is survived by her son Scott Batson (Sissy)
and daughter Cynthia Clarey (Frank). Additional surviving family members are her grandchildren Christy
Ashe (Alan), Shannon Dawson (Taylor), Stephanie Morgan (Philip), Jimmy Bell (Amanda), Justin Bell
(Leah), Jessica Griffin (Tim), Christian Sheppard, Scarlett Erskine (Nicole), Halie Clarey, and Michael
Clarey. She also has 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date for a private family memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
