Spartanburg

Bonnie T. Blackwell, affectionately known to many as Bonnie Rose, embarked on her eternal journey on January 13, 2025. Her legacy of love and light commenced on October 19, 1942, in the heart of Spartanburg, where she was born to the late George P. and Geneva Lawter Tuck. Bonnie’s life came full circle as she passed away at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House, surrounded by the memories of the town she held dear.

A beacon of unwavering devotion, Bonnie was preceded in passing by her adoring husband Gaither W. Blackwell Jr. "Punk," and her sons Jeffery W., Gregory P., and Anthony C., A. Bryson Blackwell. Her spirit is celebrated by her loving family, including her brothers; George P. Tuck and wife Barbie, Sid Tuck and wife Ann, as well as her grandchildren, Brittiny L., Aireal S., Rosalie A., Chasity A. Blackwell, and Jasper L. Blackwell, as well as her eleven cherished great-grandchildren.

Bonnie’s educational pursuits culminated in a successful career. For five decades, she excelled as a Certified Public Accountant, serving with integrity and expertise. Bonnie's influence reached beyond her professional successes; she flourished as a fantastic mom, a loving aunt, and a cherished friend. Treasured memories of her envelop nieces Patti Mitchell, Roxane Smith, and Cynthia Smith who considered Bonnie a maternal figure.

Bonnie Rose's passion for life extended to her culinary skills, with a love for recipes and cooking that brought people together. Her generosity knew no bounds, often found feeding and caring for the many feral cats in her community, including her beloved pets Minnie and Pepper. A lover of shopping and dining out, each outing was an adventure that she reveled in.

Friends and family will remember Bonnie for her loving, courageous, and selfless nature. Her remarkable presence was a compass of compassion, guiding those she loved with an open heart and open arms. Bonnie's warm spirit echoed in the laughter of her grandchildren, the kindred connection with her nieces, and in the stories that will be passed down through generations.

The life of Bonnie T. Blackwell— a loving sister whose radiant soul inspired with grace and boundless love—will forever be etched in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
