Reverend Bobby Don Morris

Bobby Don Morris, 85, of Greer, South Carolina, passed away on July 7, 2023. He was a dedicated servant of Jesus, a hardworking mechanical engineer, a devoted husband, and a loving father.
Bobby Don was born in Cumby, Texas, and was one of nine children to Tom and Mantie Morris. He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School (Texas) and Texas A&M Commerce with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his years at Rockwell International, Bobby Don created valves used on the Space Shuttle developed for NASA. He was the Plant Manager at Detroit Broach in Greer, South Carolina, and also PAI in Spartanburg. Bobby Don felt the Lord’s call to become a pastor at the young age of 18. He pastored six churches while living in Texas and Dunean Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
Bobby Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rose Mary, and son Daniel Wade (Carole) of Greer, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Zoe. His eldest son, David Wayne Morris preceded him in death in 2003. He is also survived by a brother, Roy Wayne Morris (Patsy) of Commerce, Texas.
Bobby Don was a member of Greer First Baptist Church for almost 44 years. He enjoyed working on mission projects with Joshua’s Way, which included building solar cookers for villages in Ethiopia.
