A private memorial is planned for Bill "Smitty" Smith, loving husband of Jean Dodgens Smith and beloved father of Leslie Smith, Lisa Pomeroy and Llyn Smith. Bill was the son of the late Joe Bill and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mauldin Smith. He was a retired brickmason and veteran of WWII, having served in the Pacific with the 1st Marine Division, 1943-1947. He was predeceased by grandson Jeremy Thomas and sisters Evelyn Johnson and Dora Logan. He was an avid reader, skilled woodworker and stone mason, and lover of classic cars and cameras. Favorite hymns were How Great Thou Art, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, and Amazing Grace. Rest in peace, Smitty. We love you "more than tongue can tell."
