Beverly Marlene Troyer, known affectionately as Bev to her friends and family, passed away on July 31, 2024, in Greenville, SC. Born on July 6, 1933, in Des Moines, Bev was the cherished daughter of the late Verlin Flatt and Ruth Elizabeth Dillon, and was the wife of the late David Troyer.
Bev is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen Ann Schmitz, and was predeceased by her dear son, Gregory Elliot Schmitz. Bev's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Charity Ann Collins, Jolene Marie Morton, Sarah Alyssa Marie Drew, Christianne Elizabeth Drew, and Jacob Gregory Schmitz. She was also the proud great-grandmother to Josiah Brian Collins, Nathan Andrew Collins, Samuel Joseph Collins, Maria J. Morresi, Lucien M. Morresi, and Alazne Grace Morton.
Bev's life was marked by her passion for nurturing those around her, a trait that extended beyond her family to the many friends and community members whose lives she touched.
As we say goodbye to Bev, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the incredible impact she made on the lives of so many. Her spirit will live on through the stories shared by her family and the countless memories cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Bev's memory will be forever held in the hearts of those she leaves behind, as a guiding light and a source of comfort.
