Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Bob Southers, her devoted brother Bud Gillespie, and her caring parents, Guynell Gillespie Bramlett and Haud Gillespie. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be cherished by her family, including her son Ric Southers and his wife Mary Rose, her brother Gary Bramlett and his wife Hazel, her adored granddaughters Jonna and Jessica, her three great-granddaughters, and her special nieces Lauree, Heather, and Cathy, who held a special place in her heart.
Betty's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, her career, and her community. She earned an Associate Degree that propelled her into a successful career. For 40 years, Betty was a respected figure at the Greenville News, where she retired as the Display Advertising Manager. Her professional achievements were a testament to her strong work ethic and her ability to lead with grace.
After her retirement, Betty continued to engage with her community through her work at a local florist, where her artistry and love for beauty were evident in every arrangement she created. Betty's passions extended beyond her professional life; she was an avid gardener, finding joy in the simple pleasure of nurturing plants and flowers.
