Betty Lucille Horton-Parker

Betty Lucille Horton Parker passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on January 30, 2018 in Central, SC at the age of 88.
Betty is survived by son Barry Vernon Parker and wife Poppy, daughter Jennie Parker Tinsley, both of Central and son Stanley Horton Parker and wife Peggy of Homosassa, FL. She is preceded in death by son Danny Wayne Parker, daughter Linda Dianne Parker Newhouse, sisters Bernice Horton Loggins, Edna Horton Holliday, Brother J.D. Horton and great grandson David Scott.
Betty had 13 grandchildren: Cindy Stone, Jessica Flynn, Robbie Pitzer (Tara), Andy Parker (Merri), Kylie Mitchell, Matthew Parker (Rebecca), Kevin Mitchell (Kasha), Amber Mitchell, Christy Burkhart (Andy), Kayla Salisbury (Jake), Nikki Parker, Eric Parker (Olivia), Devon Parker and Lory Duvall. She had 23 great-grandchildren: Christopher (Savannah), Michael, Katie, Adrianna, Evan, Madison, Aidan, Emma, Eva, Josie, Clay, Anneliese, Gabby, Caden, Holden, JW, Jaylyn, Ryleigh, Ava, Colton, Damien, Julia and Logan, one great-great grandson Aiden.
Betty was born on March 8, 1929 in Asheville, NC to Millard M. Horton and Olivia Collins Horton. She was raised in Central and graduated from Central High School in 1945. She was retired from Clemson University Police Department. She was a strong independent woman who enjoyed camping and all night fishing.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 until at her home on College Street.
