Bertie Jean Blackston Garrick Ware

Mrs. Bertie Jean Blackston Garrick Ware, of Easley, SC, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the age of 81.
Bertie was born to parents, Frank Blackston and Nannie Dodson Blackston Davis, on December 16, 1935 in Easley, SC. She was the youngest of 4 children and the last surviving sibling being preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Ruby Blackston Rowland, and 2 brothers, Allen and Ralph Blackston.
Bertie was first married to Robert V. “Bobby” Garrick, Sr. and second married to George W. Ware, both of whom preceded her in death. Bertie had three children. Her two sons, Robert Verner “Skip” Garrick, Jr. and Dan George Ware, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Gina Garrick Wilkes; grandchildren and spouses – Michael (Tonya) Garrick, Kimberly Garrick, Tonya Howard, Jenna (Robert) Putnam, Robert Wilkes; a daughter-in-law Donna Garrick; 10 loving great-grandchildren; and 1 brother-in-law, Billy Rowland, of Easley.
In addition to her husbands and sons, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Wilkes.
Family and friends are at the home. The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations.
